This Sunday, August 22
"Come now, and let us reason together," says the LORD, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land….” Isaiah 1:18-19
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
Both the Old Testament and the New Testament offer ways to have cleansing from sin. The Old Testament used sacrifice and the New Testament uses The Great Sacrifice, Jesus. No matter what the sin, when we admit, repent and accept Christ's atoning death, we can be spiritually white as snow.
Our Adult Choir and Orchestra share a song this Sunday morning at 8:15 and 9:30 called, "Though Your Sins Be as Scarlet." This is taken from the Isaiah passage. It is hope for a guilty world.
Our Pastor continues his sermon series "2012...Today and That Day". Janie Blaylock leads in worship through a solo song.
Sunday night, our Youth Choir, One Voice and Mike Williams lead in musical worship. The Pastor will continue his second coming sermon series. The Youth Choir will sing for the first time this fall. One Voice will share an old Gaither song called, "Whatever It Takes".
There is hope for the hurting this Sunday in worship.
1 of 130
Our Adult Choir and Orchestra are praying for God to bring folks in to praise Him through these groups. We want to average 100 in choir and 30 in the orchestra each Sunday morning at 9:30. This is a God-sized task. We are counting on Him and inviting you to come to a reahearsal on a Wednesday night at 6 p.m. and give this a try.
Purpose
The purpose of the Music Ministry is to serve the Lord and His church by pointing all people to God. This is done through the vehicle of music.
The main purpose of man is to glorify God. The Music Ministry exists to serve the Lord and His church by pointing all people to God. This is done through the vehicle of music.
Opportunities for participation include both instrumental and choral groups. Ages range from three years old to heaven.
Consider visiting a rehearsal with one of these groups and see if God would lead you to be a part of the try. It is a joy and a privilege to make music in praise of the Lord.
Everyone can participate in praising God by joining your voice with others in one of our four worship times each week. Center your mind’s attention and your heart’s affection on our Savior at these times of praise.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you
richly as you teach and admonish one
another with all wisdom, and as you
sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs
with gratitude in your hearts to God
Colossians 3:16
